About

Welcome to The Endless Rot, a Project Zomboid server born out of frustration with the limitations of other servers and a desire to create something better. After spending many hours in single-player and scouring countless servers, I found that most fell short of delivering the experience I wanted. Many were bogged down by conflicting mods that caused performance issues and glitches or weighed down with rules that stifled organic gameplay and defied common sense.

That’s why I started The Endless Rot Server, to provide players with a reliable, long-term, wipe free server where survival feels authentic, and gameplay flows naturally. This server runs with only mods that have been rigorously performance-tested to ensure a smooth experience for all players and the long term operation on the server. Notwithstanding those with bad setups and optimisation. No ridiculous rules, just unfiltered survival where every decision matters.

Whether you're a lone wolf or part of a group, The Endless Rot offers a challenging, immersive world where you can carve out your story in the apocalypse. Welcome to your new home in the end of the world.

Looking Ahead to Build 42 Stable

The Endless Rot was created to deliver a consistent, long-term survival experience for players looking for a hardcore challenge. Since early 2025, the server has gone through an initial three-month alpha test, followed by a longer beta phase. Both were successful and helped shape the changes needed to fix earlier issues.

New hardware and a new operating system were added to provide a smoother Project Zomboid experience. Throughout the rest of 2025, I continued running the server in beta and was very happy with the progress and results.

Testing is now coming to an end as I roll out the latest updates and prepare for a stable Build 42 multiplayer release. There are still a few issues to solve, but the server is otherwise ready. Once Build 42 stable is released, I plan to launch within a week or two.
